TEEN DRIVING FOCUS ON PROM SAFETY!!!

Thank you to the Jonathan Alder High School staff, especially Ms. Piatt for her coordination of this important Teen Driving Safety week April 25-29, 2011.

The speakers presented daily during the three lunch periods to the captive teen audience. These presenters varied from the teacher that had an accident as a teen driver to the teens at the high school that have experienced a tragic accident due to texting, speeding or drinking and driving situations! Theresa Fauver described her daughter Sierra’s fatal accident when she was a senior at Jonathan Alder as well as the Ohio State Patrol representative Office Shane Meddock reminding teens that it only takes one moment to change lives forever!

Thank you to The Allstate Foundation and the local Allstate Agent Joan Hinterschied for the donations of NO TEXTING thumb Rings and Allstate Water bottles. Also to The Allstate Foundation for funding our grant to improve teen driving and allowing us to purchase promotional raffle gifts and ice cream. These items assisted in promoting an open invitation to the high school youth to participate in signing the “Allstate Parent Teen contracts”, “The No Phone Zone” and “The Prom Promise” contracts prior to Prom night. We thank The Eskimo Queen, The Plain City Village Market and Rex’ S Marathon station for the discounted ice cream treats and gas cards. A big thanks also to AJ’s Auto in West Jefferson Ohio for towing, at no charge, a “wreck” to sit in front of the high school during prom week! This is a tragic reminder of the dangers of distracted driving!

On a positive note there were not any accidents during Prom this 2011 year at Jonathan Alder High School!

Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much!

We are all blessed with special people in our lives. Sierra was one of those who have given us a deeper understanding of how our loved ones impact us as we walk together through our journey.

We have established this scholarship in honor of her memory. We wish to continue her effort to make a positive influence on the lives of others. Her scholarship was initially funded from her estate, and has been supplemented by generous donations from family, friends, and community businesses. We want to thank all who help us with the annual fund raiser golf outing.

Our appreciation goes out to Buck Ridge Golf Course in Marysville for coordinating our outing on their fine course, complete with a great meal!  A special thanks to those involved in soliciting, contributing donations for the silent auction, and to the wonderful volunteers who assist in all aspects of this charity event.

We also extend our gratitude to Kari Cordle Photography of Dublin, Ohio for donating her fantastic services at the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Golf Outings.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to offer scholarships to graduating seniors of Jonathan Alder High School while promoting safe teen driving in the community and the high school.  Our daughter Sierra Lin Fauver 08/05/1989 to 03/04/2007, was only 17 when she died in an automobile accident, and we hope to remind drivers that it only takes one moment to change the lives of so many.
