Sierra Lin 2007

Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much!

We are all blessed with special people in our lives. Sierra was one of those who have given us a deeper understanding of how our loved ones impact us as we walk together through our journey.

We have established this scholarship in honor of her memory. We wish to continue her effort to make a positive influence on the lives of others. Her scholarship was initially funded from her estate, and has been supplemented by generous donations from family, friends, and community businesses. We want to thank all who help us with the annual fund raiser golf outing.

Our appreciation goes out to Buck Ridge Golf Course in Marysville for coordinating our outing on their fine course, complete with a great meal!  A special thanks to those involved in soliciting, contributing donations for the silent auction, and to the wonderful volunteers who assist in all aspects of this charity event.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to offer scholarships to graduating seniors of Jonathan Alder High School while promoting safe teen driving in the community and the high school.  Our daughter Sierra Lin Fauver 08/05/1989 to 03/04/2007, was only 17 when she died in an automobile accident, and we hope to remind drivers that it only takes one moment to change the lives of so many.

Since 2007 when Sierra was a teenager and was killed in an auto accident the SLF Fund has given away thousands of dollars in educational scholarships for graduating Jonathan Alder seniors who met criteria some of which is, post high school enrollment in a 2 or 4 yr college, had academic, community, work and or athletic involvement and wrote a 500 word essay on "How to Improve Teen Driving Safety".

The winning essays can be viewed on our facebook page and our website has our mission statement and the past events.

The Sierra Lin Fauver Scholarship has also provided sixty-five youth with defensive driving classes provided at a discount from the experts at Mid Ohio School Honda Teen Driving Program and teen Prom Safety programs.

The Scholarship fund has partnered in the past with Allstate Insurance and the Mid Ohio Sports Car School of Driving as well as Jonathan Alder High School and a host of other sponsors.

The Golf Outing includes a Silent auction with OSU football tickets, Reds tickets as well as signed sports memorabilia.
